Richard has participated in Junior Handling and regular classes at AKC matches a few times since he was about 8 years old.  He won a large Junior's class at Mid-Kentucky Kennel Club's spring match in 2001.  (story on Junior's Home Page)

At his second match, on January 28, 2001, Richard handled one of our 3 month old puppies in the regular classes.  The puppy Richard handled was a very nice puppy, but the least one from that litter.  We brought him for experience and socialization as he was soon going to a companion home.  Well, Richard and puppy beat Major (the pick of the litter) and I to win the class, then Richard (9 years old then) proceeded to defeat an 11 month old puppy with his ADULT breeder/owner/handler - to win BOS with our 3 month old 'least' boy!  This young boy has shown some early talent.

And from Richard's very first match at Louisville KC, January, 2000, a wonderful 'Kodak moment' I didn't get a picture of, but will remember forever.  My 8 yr old beautiful blonde boy standing in the ring, with Precious beautifully stacked sideways, with ear to ear grins on both of them.     PRICELESS : )
