Crab Orchard KC shows in Du Quinn, IL 10/13&14, 2001 Samson was RWD both days. At the same show, his grandaughter Ruby (sister of Major) won her class the first day against a VERY NICE puppy who was Best Puppy at the Afghan Hound Club of America National Specialty just a few weeks later!

8/31/2001 Samson placed 3rd in a large Bred By Exhibitor class at Afghan Hound Club of Greater Detroit Specialty Show!

Judge was Geogiana Guthrie. At the same show, his son Moses placed 4th in BBE with 14 year old Edwin Farley handling, and his other son Joshua placed 1st in American Bred with 13 year old Rose Farley handling.

Long Beach CA 6/29/01 - Afghan Hound Club of California Specialty show- 4th place American Bred class - Rosemary Sutton handling. At same show, his grandson, 'Major', Hosanna Man of War, placed 4th in a HUGE puppy class with TOP competition (Major's Show Photo) ~~~ 6/30/01 Samson 4th place in a large Bred By Exhibitor class with Michael Canalizo judging at Western Hound Association Specialty. Michael said to us, 'Very nice!' We defeated the Group placing brother of the current #1 Afghan Hound, among others! : )

Also, Samson participated in Junior Handling at the Long Beach, CA cluster shows with 10 year old, Richard Farley.

(1st show in almost 2 yrs, Samson was 4 yrs old then)

Evansville KC (3/20/99) was the first time in almost two years I had taken Samson to a show. He crashed through a fence as a youngster and injured his head (damaged the growth plates). His muzzle didn't grow out correctly, and his face is pushed in and crooked, also he is 'old fashioned' looking - though he is otherwise EXCELLENT. I decided to show him at these Louisville shows 'just for fun', and had SO much fun with him - he REALLY LOVES to show - decided to continue showing him even though I didn't think he could ever win. I cried all over the judge when he won his first AKC Championship point. And LOOK at what he has done! God Bless YOU Mrs. Marilyn Spacht - and ALL these judges - for looking past his obvious minor faults (due to INJURY) and noticing what a truly wonderful boy he is! He is from our very first home bred litter, and my very first 'show dog', so, YES, these are all 'novice brags' here. I don't know if he will finish, given his handicaps, but I WILL NOT give up on this boy again. Look for him at the shows - he is quite the ham, and loves attention! Even if he doesn't ever finish his Championship, the excellence of the competition he defeats on a regular basis under a variety of judges proves what excellent quality he IS. NOTE:SAMSON IS RETIRED NOW, AS HE BROKE HIS CANINE TOOTH. He's still a big ham, so watch for him at Veteran's Parades at Specialty shows in the next year or two.Lynda R.
